Keeping an eye out for crime and unruly behaviour on Essex streets

A team of CCTV operators in Essex monitor 350 cameras across 45 screens, which led to 445 arrests in 2011.

The screens are monitored by at least 2 people, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and they have 5 minutes off their observations every hour.

The operation is run by Chelmsford borough council to work in conjunction with the Police and the CCTV caught 3,293 incidents on camera last year.

Swinton Bikes reveal top 5 annonyances for bikers on the road

Swinton Bikes, who provide the UK with motorcycle insurance, surveyed 1000 motorbike owners to compile their top 5 annonyances when driving on the road.

The top annoyance was motorists who do not use their indicators properly.

They also cited poor observation skills from other motorists as an annoyance and said that when driving in poor weather conditions, they were more worried about "others lacking observation skills" more than the conditions themselves.

Observation by patients into the manners recieved at hospitals has been revealed.

These were based on the amount of complaints, which were recieved by the hospitals about the attitudes of their staff.

It has been found that not enough empathsis is placed on bedside manner when staff are evaluated and hospitals have pledged that they will look into these cases.

Michael Jackson: Conrad Murray 'concern over drugs'

Michael Jackson's personal doctor, Conrad Murray is on trial for the charge of involuntary manslaughter after the death of the star in 2009.

The court has heard from Michael Jackson's bodyguard that Dr Murray, asked him to remove "vials of medicine" from Jackson's bedroom on the day he died, before paramedics were called.

The trial is set to continue for five weeks.

Plane crashes into Salford houses

A light aircraft crashed into two houses in the Salford area, leaving the two men in the plane in a critical condition.

Witnesses saw the "plane dropping from the sky" as it appeared the pilot tried to keep it under control.

The plane came down between two semi-detatched houses where it caught on fire, whereby police and witnesses tried to put the fire out before firefighters arrived.

Kings Langley post office robbed by armed men

Staff at a post office were threatened with a handgun in Kings Langley.

Two men, who were said to be in their early 20s, entered the shop and demanded money before running off.

No-one was hurt but Hertfordshire police are looking for witnesses who can assist with this case.
